Make sure the water and ice from your refrigerator is as clean and fresh tasting as possible by replacing its water filter. This Whirlpool PuR water filter is used in Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, and JennAir side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille.

It's NSF-certified to reduce cysts, particulates (class I), lead, mercury, and more. (The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users' water.) While it effectively removes contaminants from your water and ice, this filter also lowers the taste and odor of chlorine while retaining beneficial fluoride.

For the highest quality water and ice, your refrigerator's water filter needs to be changed over a period of time as its effectiveness at cleaning the water is reduced. For optimal results, you should replace this refrigerator water filter every 6 months to ensure clean, safe drinking water and ice.

Your refrigerator will even remind you when to change its filter, turning on an indicator light found near the water dispenser. Changing the filter is easy--just locate the old filter, twist and turn it until it becomes loose, then pull the old filter out and replace with the new filter.

Replacing Your Water Filter

For side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille, follow these instructions for replacing your filter:

Push the eject button, then pull the filter cap. Do not twist cap.
Remove the filter cap by turning it counter clockwise. Set aside cap. Discard old filter.
Remove the packaging and O-ring covers from the new filter.
Align arrows on the cap and new filter. Turn clockwise to snap in place.
Push filter into the base grill until the eject button pops. Gently tug on cap to ensure it is snug.
Flush the water system until a total of 3 gallons (12 L) has been dispensed.

Capitalizing on deer movement patterns will increase your chances at seeing a harvesting more mature bucks. Many hunters know the two main times that deer move. . . early morning and late evening. This is true, but there is more to it.

During early bow season, the deer will usually move right before dark. Bucks will usually start making scrape lines during this time. The problem with hunting these scrapes this early is that the bucks are visiting them after dark. At this time bucks hang together in bachelor groups.

As the season progresses and the temperature cools off, the deer will begin to increase movement. I usually start seeing more movement in the afternoons at this time. This is a good time to also start hunting scrapes because various bucks will begin to start checking them out for many reasons.

Deer movement, especially bucks, will greatly increase in November. As the rut approaches, bucks will start making mistakes as the importance for finding hot does increases. This is your chance to capitalize on these mistakes. I usually like to hunt high in areas where I can see a lot of land to increase my chances of seeing bucks passing through.

As the season ends and food becomes scarce, deer movement patterns are highly predictable. Deer will flock to available food sources and often move to keep warm. Food plots and harvested crop fields are great areas to hunt during this time. Deer will scrap these areas clean of any food that is left.

When camping, hunting, and hiking it is always a good idea to be prepared for a survival situation. One item that is on almost every survival list you'll find is a good knife. A survival knife can serve many purposes. If you are lost in the woods or come across any of the other dangers that the great outdoors has to offer a survival knife is a must have item. When looking for a survival knife you'll notice that you have a few options to choose from.

A typical survival knife will either be a folding knife or the more commonly a fixed blade knife. Wither you choose a folding or fixed blade survival knife is up to you but be warned that fixed blades tend to be a little more durable in extreme survival conditions. Another thing to consider when choosing a survival knife is if you want a serrated or plain edge blade. While serrated blades work better for cutting fabric like material they tend to be a little harder to sharpen making them less popular.
